Belfast's CryptoParty

6th of August 2015
18:00 - 20:00
Graduate School @ Queen's University Belfast
Teaching Room 7

Concerned with privacy issues? Want to learn some practical tips and references to software and technologies that will help you increase your security? If you answered at least one of these questions with “yes”, then you should come along to the next Cryptoparty, which will take place on Thursday, 6th of August at 18:00 in Teaching Room 7 in the new Graduate School.

The event is organised in cooperation with students from ECIT and the Social Sciences and will cover an introductory session on the concept of virtual private network (VPN). VPN enables you to have a secure, encrypted tunnel in which you can transmit data while working, for example, with a public internet connection.

This is going to be a hands-on session, so please bring your laptop to really get the most out of it, and internet access will also be required. But don’t worry: No prior knowledge and skills on the subject-matter are expected!
