OpSec

OpSec is shorthand for Operational Security.

It is a set of behavioural principles that are designed to keep you and your data safe.

What to do?

This is a very brief list.

0. Security is a process, not a product. Nothing is ever 100% safe.

  1. Keep your software up to date.
  2. Use strong and different passwords.
  3. Always have a pair of eyes on your hardware (it does not have to be your pair!).
  4. Lock your screen when you leave your computer/phone.
  5. Make sure to use encrypted connections (watch out for the “https:” in the address bar. - Encrypt your hard disk. - Don't open links or attachments from emails. ===== words ===== ==== CIA ==== * Confidentiality. * Integrity. * Availability.
