# What CryptoParty is a free and open format. People come together and learn from one another how to protect their privacy online in times of pervasive commercial tracking and state surveillance. Absolutely no prior knowledge is required and all questions are beautiful! After a few hours everybody has learned something and leaves with new ideas and a sense of empowerment.
