Privacy is the space in which ideas are developed, to retreat into whenever you want. This space is not only physical but digital as well. Governments and companies don't want to respect that so we become active ourselves.

CryptoParties are free and open for everyone, but especially ​those without prior knowledge, who haven't yet attended one.

CryptoParty is a decentralized movement with events happening all over the world. The goal is to pass on knowledge about protecting yourself in the digital space. This can include encrypted communication, preventing being tracked while browsing the web and general security advice for computers and smartphones.

The commoditisation of personal data has resulted in a gold rush for personally identifiable information (PII). PII is readily accessible by many entities through social media, online services and data breaches.

Come and join this workshop where we will use tools and practices to clean up your mischievous Facebook photos, comments and likes. We will also show how you can dig into your Gmail account to find clear-text passwords, non-expiring password reset links and other sensitive stuff that should be deleted permanently. We show how you can dig into Twitter to identify and delete your dodgy tweets from the past.

This one hour workshop is focused on the importance of privacy in the big data age, information that various social media platforms have harvested and techniques on minimising your personal data footprint.
