Our next CryptoParty London event - codenamed Unstoppable Keyboards - is Tue 28 May at awesome Juju's in East London (E1 6QR). Join us for a night of workshops about technology, privacy, digital empowerment, peer-to-peer learning. We'll chat, learn to code and hack, have drinks, and listen to electronic music.

Wait, I've never been to a CryptoParty, what are you even talking about?

Have you ever dreamt of a place where friends sit next to you and help you make sense of this or that technological conundrum - secure passwords, social media privacy settings, internet cookies, is my phone secure, surveillance capitalism, etc? CryptoParties are that place - a place where you can ask those questions and find friendly answers.

I've been at CryptoParties a number of times... tell me something I don't know!

If you've been to CPLDN already or are an advanced tech user, fear not - we've you covered too. You can ask advanced questions to our crypto-angels in a 1-2-1 session. Come and talk to us of your favourite project or topic, start an impromptu workshop about it, meet new friends and find potential collaborators. Let's confirm CPLDN as a space for collaboration and p2p learning. Let's hack away the gloomy feeling of surveillance capitalism and build our stairway to digital empowerment.

In practice

Privacy self-defence workshops. Learn how to use privacy enhancing applications to, for instance, improve the security of your online communications and safely browse the internet.

Join us from around 6pm with workshops kicking off at 6:30pm sharp. We'll be hosted by awesome Juju's, in East London. Free entrance, all welcome, no registration needed.

About

Why CryptoParty?

Privacy is the space in which ideas are developed, to retreat into whenever you want. This space is not only physical but digital as well. Governments and companies don't want to respect that so we become active ourselves.

What is a CryptoParty?

CryptoParties are free and open for everyone, but especially those without prior knowledge, who haven't yet attended one.

CryptoParty is a decentralized movement with events happening all over the world. The goal is to pass on knowledge about protecting yourself in the digital space. This can include encrypted communication, preventing being tracked while browsing the web and general security advice for computers and smartphones.

To try the programs and apps at the CryptoParty bring your laptop or smartphone.
